If that's dinner every night....I'm in serious trouble!!

It was delicous, it was perfectly matched and it was plentiful....yep that is how I would describe our first meal in Italy as a family.  The chefs at the Hotel Grand Sitea did a marvelous job of highlighting the local cuisine and perfectly matching a range of regional wines.
The aperitif was served with a Sauvignon Blanc sparkling wine and it was crisp and delightful with the veal, apple and pinenut salad.
Then the entree of cold veal with tuna sauce - a regional classic served with a scrumptious Arneis. Take a look

This was quickly followed by an amazing ravioli with Piedmontese Sauce.  The sauce was amazing and we spent quite a while working out what was in it...was it mushroom?  Could the be porcini? Not sure if we will ever find out, but it was goooood.
The next veal dish was rich and flavoursome and was served with a Barbera, of course.  By this time, we were all a bit weary and not sure if we would make it to dessert. The restaurant had begun to fill (9pm) with dinner guests and the place was buzzing when the amazing dessert arrived. Almonds and chocolate pudding, kind of like a panna cotta and this was served with  Rossetto a full bodied, sparkling and sweet red wine -- delicioso!
Unfortunately, this little blogger was unable to stay awake for coffee and petit fours and toddled of for a good nights rest, but we are confident, that it would have been amazing too.
Off to the mountains tomorrow and the towns of Courmayer and Aosta.  Will keep you posted.
